A family roofing company in the Chippewa Valley
Gary Lindqvist started roofing in Eau Claire in the summer after high school and never really stopped. He opened Tall Pine Roofing Co. in 1998 with a pickup truck and a two-man crew.
Today his son Nate runs the estimates and Gary still climbs up to check the flashing on most jobs. They have built the business on referrals from neighbors, and they would like to keep it that way.
Why neighbors send us their neighbors
Same crew, start to finish
Our roofers are Tall Pine employees. The people who tear off your roof are the same people who put the new one on.
Built for our weather
Every roof gets ice and water shield, proper ventilation and flashing done for heavy snow, not the bare minimum.
We clean up like we live there
Tarps over your landscaping, a magnetic sweep for nails and a final walk around the yard before we leave.
Honest about what you need
If a repair will buy you five more good years, we will tell you that before we talk about a new roof.

What homeowners ask before a new roof
Do I need a new roof or just a repair?
It depends on the age of the roof and where the damage is. Many leaks come from flashing or a cracked pipe boot and can be fixed for a fraction of a replacement. We will show you photos and give you both options when both make sense.
Can you roof in the winter?
Yes, for repairs and some replacements on mild days. Shingles need a little warmth to seal properly, so we schedule most full replacements from spring through late fall.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most homes take one to three days, depending on size, pitch and weather. We will not open up a roof if rain is in the forecast.
Do I need to be home?
No. Just keep your phone handy in case a question comes up, and keep cars out of the driveway so we can set up.
What if you find rotted decking?
We replace damaged boards as we go and tell you the cost per sheet in your quote, so there are no surprises. We call you before doing anything beyond that.
Do you help with insurance claims?
Yes. We inspect, document the damage with photos and meet your adjuster. We will only recommend a claim when we believe the damage is real.
