The decision to improve
When an opportunity changes owner, the new salesperson needs commitments and unresolved questions. AI can build a handover brief from authorized notes. It should separate customer statements from your team interpretation and avoid inventing buying intent.
A practical starting record
Include opportunity ID, last confirmed need, proposal version, promises made, open questions and next agreed contact. For a staff absence, retain the original owner and identify the temporary replacement. A recent friendly reply is not proof that a purchase is approved.
Review and tool fit
The outgoing owner or manager checks the brief before reassignment. Test two open opportunities for the same customer and a proposal changed during handover. Confirm your CRM exports activity timestamps and owner fields. A shared review list may handle occasional cover without a custom integration.
Excel supports dropdown lists; the workflow described is a proposal. Microsoft: create a dropdown list
Measure the real value
Compare preparation time, repeated customer questions and corrections by the new owner. Include reading and approval effort. Assess setup and subscription costs against the number of handovers, not an assumed increase in closed deals.
