Stop a polished report hiding stale data

Show when each source last updated and flag missing inputs before a report is shared.

Put freshness beside the number

AI can write a readable report even when one source has stopped updating. Add a freshness check before narrative generation. Each metric needs its source, reporting period and last successful update so the reader can distinguish a real change from incomplete data.

Set the expected timing

For an illustrative weekly sales report, define when the customer system export should finish and what to do if it is missing. A blank file is not zero sales. A source updated yesterday may still contain last month’s reporting period, so check the content window as well as the file timestamp.

Hold incomplete summaries

Route stale, missing or inconsistent inputs to the report owner. That person decides whether to wait or issue a clearly limited report. Test an empty export and a failed connection. Confirm your integration exposes run outcomes; a successful email delivery does not prove the underlying refresh completed.

Measure trust and investigation effort

Record stale reports prevented, false alerts and time spent checking sources manually. Include alert review, setup and ongoing connector costs. Exovara can implement the checks and an explicit incomplete-data state. The goal is a report your team can use confidently, with visible limitations, rather than a summary sent on time at any cost.
