Ask for a clearer decision, not just fewer words
AI can help propose a shorter version of a crowded website, but word count alone is a poor approval rule. Start with what a potential customer needs to understand: the service, whether it fits their request and what happens after they contact you. Keep the facts that affect that decision. Move supporting detail to a clearly linked service page where appropriate, and remove repetition. A shorter homepage should still lead visitors to the information they need before making an enquiry.
Make a keep, move or remove record
For each part of the existing page, record the customer question it answers, the approved fact it contains, the proposed action and its destination. Keep the main offer and immediate next step visible. Move detailed preparation instructions to a relevant section or service page with a descriptive link. Remove repeated introductions that add no new information. A condition that changes whether you offer the service deserves visible treatment; do not remove it merely because it makes the sentence longer. Mark an unsupported claim for owner review rather than rewriting it as established fact.
Check what a shorter sentence changes
Imagine a fictional equipment-service page explaining: "We inspect equipment at your site and provide a written condition report. Repairs are quoted separately after review. Send an enquiry to request an assessment; a visit is confirmed separately." A proposed summary, "Book complete equipment repairs today," changes the service and the booking promise. A better short draft could say, "Request an on-site equipment inspection and written report. Repairs are quoted separately; visits need confirmation." The wording is shorter, while the important boundaries remain. Those are invented examples, not claims about an Exovara client or a guaranteed page result.
Make the remaining detail easy to find
W3C writing guidance recommends clear, concise language, meaningful links and headings that describe the sections they organize. Apply that to the path from the homepage to the service detail and enquiry route. Use a link that names the information it opens rather than an unexplained "More" button. Google asks site owners to consider whether readers learn enough to achieve their goal and have a satisfying experience. Neither source establishes a target word count or guarantees higher rankings from a shorter page.

Review a saved preview before replacing the page
Ask someone unfamiliar with the business to use the proposed page on a phone and a desktop. Have them find the offered service, one important limitation, the area served and the next step. Ask what they think submitting the form will do. Compare those answers with the approved facts and the keep-or-move record. Check that moved details remain reachable and that links open the intended destinations. Confirm your actual website editor supports a saved preview and a way to restore the earlier version before changing live copy.
Measure clarity and the work needed to maintain it
Record misunderstood offers, missing-detail questions and correctly received relevant enquiries after the change. Keep form submissions separate from confirmed bookings. When other marketing changes happen at the same time, do not attribute every enquiry difference to shorter copy. Include content review, layout work, publishing, analytics and future updates in the scope; faster drafting releases capacity only after checking and implementation effort. Exovara can review the existing site, prepare a simpler structure and help with website improvements. Start with the page causing confusion rather than assuming every useful URL or service description needs replacing.
