The decision to improve
A translation glossary helps staff use the same names for your products and processes. AI can suggest entries from approved bilingual material. A qualified reviewer should decide the accepted wording, especially when meaning matters more than literal translation.
A practical starting record
Store source term, approved equivalent, context, reviewer and effective version. For an internal job status, include an example sentence so staff do not confuse booked with completed. Keep brand names and product codes separate from words that should be translated.
Review and tool fit
The language reviewer approves changes before the glossary feeds a drafting assistant. Version history can help identify which wording was current. Confirm your translation tool can use the glossary in the intended workflow; uploading a file does not prove every output follows it. Test an ambiguous term in two contexts.
Google documents spreadsheet version history. Confirm account access and sharing before using a sheet as a review record. Google: manage spreadsheet data
Measure the real value
Track terminology corrections and review minutes per document. Include glossary maintenance and qualified review in the cost estimate. Compare setup and subscriptions with your actual translation workload; consistency does not remove the need to review sensitive or specialized material.
