Can AI turn your business report into a slide presentation you can trust?

Ask for a short editable deck with a source check for each important claim. Review numbers, qualifications and the audience decision before sharing AI-drafted slides.

Start with the decision the audience needs to make

AI can help draft slides from an existing report, but a polished deck still needs a person to check its message. Begin with one approved report and a short presentation brief: who will read it, what they need to understand and which decision remains open. Ask for an editable sample deck with a way to trace important claims to the report. Do not buy a large presentation library before reviewing one real handover.

Give the writer a clear source boundary

Identify the report revision, sections to cover, required figures, qualifications and material that must stay out. Provide your existing presentation template if you have one. State whether any outside research is allowed; otherwise require unsupported additions to be flagged instead of filled in. Keep the source available beside the slides. A title saying Final does not resolve a conflict between two report copies, and a shorter summary does not establish that the source was complete.

Build a claim-to-source review record

For each important slide, record the proposed message, report page or section, supporting figure or passage, qualification to retain and reviewer decision. Try a fictional report containing 48 enquiries and 12 confirmed jobs. Reject a slide calling all 48 completed jobs. If another passage proposes a trial subject to approval, reject a headline saying the trial has launched. If the report gives a result for one month, reject a slide presenting it as an annual outcome. These are written review cases, not a report or presentation we generated or tested.

Check the presentation as the audience will see it

Review slide titles, body text, charts, footnotes and speaker notes against the approved source. A correct number can still have the wrong unit or reporting period. Keep a necessary qualification visible where the audience receives the claim; notes alone may be insufficient when the slides are shared without a speaker. Ask someone unfamiliar with the draft to state its main message and the decision requested. Check charts separately for source, labels and scale, and inspect any exported reader copy as well as the editable deck.

Check the account before adding another presentation tool

Microsoft documents Copilot in PowerPoint drafting presentations from existing documents, with supported source types and other requirements depending on the licence and experience. Its separate guidance describes drafting an individual slide from a referenced file and directing it to a specific topic. Ask for a demonstration with your intended account and an approved sample. Confirm what source material was used and which outputs remain editable. An ordinary template and a careful writer may be enough for an occasional deck; a feature list does not show that your particular report has been understood.

Buy a reviewable update process

A first scope can include the source brief, agreed outline, editable deck, claim-to-source record, checked reader copy and instructions for making revisions. In a test copy, change one source figure and ask the provider to show which slide, chart, note and export must be updated. Compare outlining, drafting, fact checking, design corrections and handover with your present method. Include setup, account costs and later changes, using your actual presentation frequency. Treat time released as capacity unless an expense changes. Exovara can help set up a focused reporting-to-content process with a named reviewer.
